Who is Radha?

Krishna, who is the one supreme absolute truth, expands himself as Radha or Srimati Radharani, who is the source of energies of the Lord.

Srimati Radharani is love and compassion personified. Thus Krishna is the supreme object of love and Srimati Radharani is the supreme abode of love. She is the fountainhead of all unconditioned love. Srimati Radharani is the origin and the supreme embodiment of this highest principle of love. And therefore Krishna is eternally subordinate to Srimati Radharani’s love. She enchants the heart of Krishna. She is hara which means she steals the mind of Krishna. It is explained that Krishna considers himself to be like an ornament decorating the love of Srimati Radharani.

Krishna is the supreme absolute truth and the source of everything. But all of his happiness and all of his pleasure comes from Srimati Radharani. She is Hladini Shakti , his pleasure potency. Whatever love any living entity can have on the spiritual platform is an insignificant part and parcel of the love that emanates from Srimati Radharani.

The supreme love of Srimati Radharani towards Krishna in the most selfless and pure state manifests towards all the living beings as compassion. Love and compassion are inseparable. Where there is love, there is selfless service in the spirit of compassion. Radharani is the power of love of God and also the power of compassion of God.

Srimati Radharani is the original supreme devotee. To be her servant is the sure path of perfection.

The articles on this site are based on the classes given by Radhanath Swami over the years.

Radhanath Swami is a source of inspiration for several projects, both in India and outside of it. Radhanath Swami is also a great source of inspiration for several thousands of people aspiring to seek spiritual enlightenment in the line of bhakti yoga. His students come from various walks of life, age groups, castes, races, and nationalities.

In 1970, at the age of 19, Radhanath Swami started his journey of spiritual quest in Europe. While at Greece, a voice within him directed him towards India. Radhanath Swami set off for his destination by hitchhiking. After meeting several people and studying various paths of spiritual enlightenment along the way, he finally reached India. Radhanath Swami’s experiences through the journey enabled him to understand truth from all cultural perspectives. The sufferings and exploitations he endured on this path made Radhanath Swami more determined and focused; it increased his faith and humility. Radhanath Swami’s uncompromising determination to find a guru who could provide answers for his questions made him reach the holy land of Vrndavan, India, the holy place of Radha and Krsna. The deep realizations that Radhanath Swami gained in his travels now reflect in his teachings.

Radhanath Swami learned from many but accepted one guru. Radhanath Swami’s surrender and service to his spiritual master is a great source of inspiration to all his followers. Radhanath Swami’s lectures, kirtans, and yatras sustain the spiritual lives of many. Radhanath Swami’s explanation of complex topics of scriptures and the insight that he provides into apparently confusing philosophical topics is amazing.
