Work in Divine Consciousness

Many people say that work is worship.  They feel that if they do not do anything harmful to anyone and work throughout the day that is all they have to do.  They do not have to just sit at one place and think the name of God or something.

Work is worship, but the question is worship of whom? Is it worship of senses?  Is it worship of mind?  Is it worship of materialistic people? Is it the worship of God?

Work is worship if it is consciously and lovingly offered as a service to the Lord according to His desires. When we work with humility, in remembrance of the Lord, for the pleasure of the Lord, then we are worshiping God, and that type of work will liberate us from all bondage.  Any other kind of work will only cause bondage and ultimately the repetition of birth and death.

If work was worship then why did not Krishna tell Arjuna simply to fight? The seven hundred verses of Bhagavad Gita that Krishna spoke were to teach Arjuna to fight in a spirit of love, devotion and sacrifice to the Supreme Lord; they taught divine consciousness.

Radhanath Swami has very expertly demolished the atheistic concept that merely working hard is good enough. In fact, it can be destructive to our spiritual well-being if done in wrong consciousness. He says that work can be worship provided it is a loving service to god.

Work should be performed for the pleasure of the Lord in accordance with Guru, sadhu and shastra.Failing which any kind of work would cause eternal bondage in this material world. One must approach a bonafide Spiritual Master who is a realized soul like HH Radhanth Swami to free oneself from bondage. Only a person practising divine consciousness in day to day life can help others work in divine consciousness.

Radhanath swami explains so well. Work is truly worship – Worship of God and not anything else.
Work should be done as an offering to Lord Krishna and not to satisfy our own mind and senses.

Many people think that work is worship. H.H Radhanath Swami Maharaj said, “Work is worship if it is consciously and lovingly offered as a service to the Lord according to His desires.” We have to think for whom we are working and with what consciousness we are working. This will help us to be on proper platform. Thank you Maharaj.
