The sense of urgency, that submissiveness that Arjuna had when he approached Krishna is what is required for anyone to truly understand the Gita. We must approach Gita in the same spirit as Arjuna. Not as an entertainment but with an urgent need, with a desperate feeling that ‘I must understand what is truth.
I must transform my life according to God’s words.’ And if we hear in that spirit, every syllable of the Gita will bring about new refreshment and more sublime realizations of God and the purpose of life. This will remove our ignorance and allow the natural health of our pure Godly consciousness to manifest and do good for the world. We must approach Gita with a true and sincere desire to understand the truth and to live a life in pursuance of truth.
