Radhanath Swami Speaking on – Temporary Relationships

A man and woman see each other; they become very much attracted, and maya or illusion begins to create within their mind so many expectations of happiness from each other. ‘To be with you is to be in heaven. Your eyes are like pools of nectar; I want to dive deeply, deeply, deeply in those pools of nectar. Everything about you just attracts my heart.’

But the test of life is whether after a few years we are still able to tolerate each other. People don’t even like to look at each other because ‘the person has disappointed us; they are not what we expected to be.’ They say, ‘Your eyes have become pools of poison.’ In modern civilization people just reject each other and look for someone else. This is the nature of material world.
